Gross domestic product by industry, January 2017
Gross domestic product grew 0.6% in January on the strength of widespread growth across both goods- and service-producing industries. With the exception of October, gross domestic product has risen every month since June 2016.
Payroll employment, earnings and hours, January 2017
Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $967 in January, little changed from December and up 1.8% from January 2016.
Computer and peripherals price indexes, February 2017
The price of desktop and similar computers, laptop and tablet computers, and servers increased 0.1% in February, as a result of higher prices for laptop computers (+0.8%).
Commercial Software Price Index, February 2017
The Commercial Software Price Index (CSPI) increased 0.3% in February compared with the previous month.
Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index, February 2017
The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) increased 1.6% in February. The couriers component rose 1.6% while the local messengers and local delivery component increased 1.5%.
Food services and drinking places, January 2017
Sales in the food services and drinking places subsector rose 1.5% to $5.6 billion in January, on the strength of sales at limited-service eating places. This was the largest monthly change since September 2016. Prices for food purchased from restaurants were up 2.3% compared with January 2016, while prices for alcoholic beverages increased 1.3%.
Monthly Passenger Bus and Urban Transit, January 2017
Total operating revenues (excluding subsidies) for urban transit companies were $305.0 million in January .
Rail transportation, 2015
Operating revenue for the Canadian railway industry edged up 0.6% from 2014 to $14.4 billion in 2015. Freight transportation revenue, which accounted for 91.2% of total revenue, was up 0.3% to $13.1 billion, while revenue from passenger operations increased 9.1% to $304.3 million.
