Indigenous groups bring sacred water walk to Midland’s Little Lake Park – Simcoe County

March 25 event will involve petitioning the water spirits for good health and wellness

The event is being sponsored by the Georgian Bay Native Women’s Association, the Orillia Native Women’s Group and the Healthy Kids Community Challenge of North Simcoe.

During the walk, participants will petition the water spirits for good health and wellness.

The day will include an opening prayer and smudge, water dance, full water ceremony, hand drumming and a feast at the Georgian Bay Native Friendship Centre at the end of the day.
