Emergency Management in First Nation Communities: Towards Resilience and Self Sufficiency ~ March 28-30, 2017, Grey Eagle Resort, Calgary, Alberta
Objectives:
- To bring together a network of First Nation emergency management practitioners to share information and create awareness around emergency management following the four pillars of emergency management in First Nation communities which are response, recovery, preparedness and mitigation;
- To continue to facilitate the building of relationships between First Nation communities and the federal, provincial/territorial and regional First Nation organizations, and others in the area of emergency management;
- To support the development of emergency preparedness and resiliency initiatives at the community level through information sharing, collaboration, education, training and capacity building.
The Forum will include:
- Interesting and informative plenary sessions;
- Engaging and interactive workshops;
- Networking events;
- Opportunities to provide your views and dialogue on First Nations Emergency Management
