The Program Manager Urban Design is responsible for leading the Urban Design Studio in Scarborough District. The Program Manager will lead and enable teams and work closely with the Community Planning team to carry out studies and review applications for conformity with the Official Plan. You will represent the urban design section at meetings with City Councillors, City Staff, External Stakeholders and the Public. You build relationships, work collaboratively, and manage consultants to improve the built environment and urban design within the district. You will also oversee urban design staff who are embedded in major planning study teams in other sections (Strategic Initiatives and Policy Analysis or Transportation Planning) to ensure urban design consistency and quality. These ‘matrixed’ team members may be located in other districts.
The position will require an individual who has extensive knowledge in urban design, architecture, landscape architecture or planning.
